Garlic has a strong, distinct pungent scent to it. A clove of garlic is just a small part of what makes up a garlic bulb. Each clove is wrapped in a thin layer of skin and then wrapped with more layers of skin to hold the clove together. Garlic has been said to help prevent heart disease, to help level blood sugar, and help improve blood circulation. Garlic is used in appetizers, soups, sauces, breads, salads, meat, and vegetables.

1/4 teaspoon of dried spice is equivalent to 1 garlic clove.
