Vanilla Beans
Vanilla Beans Vanilla Beans are the long, seed pods of the tropical orchid plant, Vanilla planifolia. Our vanilla beans are Madagascar Bourbon which is a geographic reference to the Bourbon Islands. These include Madagascar, Comoro, Reunion, Seychelles and Mauritius all located off of the east coast of Africa. This vanilla is considered to be the standard by which all others are measured.

Vanilla is one of the most popular flavorings in the world. One inch of Vanilla Bean is equal to one teaspoon of Pure Vanilla Extract. The beans should be kept in an air-tight container at room temperature to be kept pliable.

There are approximately 3-5 beans in our chef size. Common usages include flavoring for desserts, ice cream, custard, cake, pudding, and try using it to flavor coffee.
